It’s imperative that teachers are paid appropriately, relative to other business professionals. This happens by lifting entry results in tertiary education- people will be attracted due to competitiveness and pay. Why do we have teachers who aren’t even literate or couldn’t pass NAPLAN if they say it themselves?
Improving teacher supply
The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

It’s unclear what is being out forward to reduce workload. It’s not hard. Stop letting people (probably like yourselves) who DO NOT TEACH make decisions about TEACHERS. Let us decide where to best reduce workload. At a bare minimum it starts with removing the red tape. Just to DO professional development you have to jump through hoops for literal days, across executives, across emails… or once a unit is taught, you have to fill out pointlessly long and unnecessary paperwork. Why mandate student reflection, for instance? There’s so much that teachers could input to this… let us decide.
