In rural and remote areas housing needs to be addressed to attract quality educators / relief teachers to provide dot for teachers and families. Houses need to be secure and serviced regularly.

Parents regional areas and remote areas need to have better respect for both the school and teachers through better understanding of the learning process.

schools should not operate in areas regions where there is no police or security.

Students at year 6 need to sit a literacy and numeracy test and if they do not meet the standard for a year 7 need to either repeat a year 6 or do remedial work to move to middle school. Parents need to be involved in this before they go to high school. Students are arriving in middle school unable to do curriculums due to low literacy skills.

Independant schools need to be monitored for how they spend their funds as in WA it is obvious the housing standards are a result of money being spent in other directions.

Improving teacher supply

The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.
