Neither agree nor disagree

Would you like to provide feedback about these actions?

The actions proposed are tokenistic and don't value the educators in the profession today.

Improving teacher supply

The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

These are long-term plans, which don't address the short-term needs of schools and their staff today. Under these proposals there is no real change to the workload for teachers and school leaders, and doesn't really make the profession any less physically and emotionally draining than it currently is.

Strengthening Initial Teacher Education (ITE)

The actions proposed will ensure initial teacher education supports teacher supply and quality.

There is still so much administrative burden on the teacher, and the role of teacher has increasingly spread to include things that would have been taught at home. Are students are coming with more additional needs, trauma backgrounds and mental health concerns than ever before, and there just isn't the additional support to teachers needed to help these students in their wellbeing, let alone their academic progress.

Better understanding future teacher workforce needs
