Information products for educators and education providers on supporting students with disability

On this page:

All educators and education providers in Australia have obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005 to support students with disability. These obligations include:

  • making reasonable adjustments which allow students with disability to participate and learn on the same basis as students without disability
  • preventing harassment and victimisation of students with disability
  • consult regularly with students with disability and their parents and caregivers to develop reasonable adjustments and address concerns as they arise.

The resources below provide guidance to educators and education providers on how to support students with disability and meet their legal and professional obligations.
