The Australian Government will invest $242.7 million in new partnerships between universities, industry and CSIRO to create world-class research commercialisation capability.

The creation of the Trailblazer Universities Program will support Australia’s best minds to produce cutting-edge research and impact in priority areas including defence, space, resources technology, food and beverage, clean energy and medical products.

Trailblazer Universities can receive $50 million each over four years to build their commercialisation capacity, hire leading researchers and innovators and establish industry-aligned courses that respond to the job-ready skills of the future. They will also have access to CSIRO’s proven Test Lab equipment.

Expressions of interest for the Trailblazer Universities Program are now open, and universities with bold and ambitious plans to commercialise their research are invited to apply.
