The annual Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) collects information about Australian school students who receive a reasonable adjustment allowing them to participate in school education on the same basis as students without disability.

Nationally consistent information on students in Australian schools receiving adjustments for disability enables schools, education authorities, and governments to better understand the needs of students with disability and how they can be best supported at school.

The NCCD Portal is a comprehensive online resource to guide school communities through the data collection process. Along with information about the steps involved, the Portal includes free e-learning courses, case studies, podcasts, videos, webinars, templates and wider support materials to equip school staff with the skills and understanding they need to complete the NCCD. Parents, guardians and carers can also access fact sheets and other resources and information.

Information to students, parents, guardians and carers

Schools must notify students and parents/guardians/carers about the data collection under the NCCD. A parents/guardians/carers privacy notice is on SchoolsHUB. This notice is produced annually as the department’s Australian Privacy Principle (APP) 5 collection notice on the Non-Government Schools Census.
