Consultation on research block grant reform to boost incentives for greater university and industry collaboration

The Government is proposing changes to the research block grant funding framework to incentivise further collaboration between universities and industry and to increase investment in research and development from industry partners.

A consultation paper was released on 1 April 2022 outlining the proposed reform to the research block grant framework, the policy objective for the changes, the implementation approach, planned transitional arrangements. Discussion questions are also included to guide submissions

Submissions, of no more than three pages, should be emailed to RBGrants@dese.gov.au by 5:00pm on 31 May 2022.
