The independent evaluation assessed the program’s effectiveness in supporting the wellbeing of school students and the broader school community. Over 10,000 submissions were received during the online consultation process, demonstrating the high value students and the school community place on the NSCP.

The independent evaluation of the NSCP found that it provided valued support for the wellbeing of students and school communities. In particular, Recommendation 4 of the Evaluation specifically supported the Government’s decision to open up the program in 2023 to provide schools with the choice to employ either Student Wellbeing Officers or Chaplains.
