These lists are required by Senate Orders. They help to make our appointments and vacancies, contracts, files and grants more transparent.
- Departmental and agency appointments and vacancies – Senate Order 15 requires each Minister list all appointments made by the Government (through Executive Council, Cabinet and ministers) to statutory authorities, executive agencies, advisory boards, government business enterprises and all other Commonwealth bodies including the term of the appointment and remuneration for the position and the place of permanent residence by state or territory of the appointee; and a list of existing vacancies to be filled by government appointment to statutory authorities, executive agencies, advisory boards, government business enterprises and all other Commonwealth bodies.
- Contract listings: Senate Order 13 requires all procurement contracts be listed in a report on the AusTender website, with non-procurement contracts to be listed on entity websites.
- Senate Continuing Order — Listing of Departmental Files: Procedural Order of Continuing Effect Number 12 requires each Department to publish a list of the titles of all relevant files, including new parts of existing files, created in the preceding six months commencing on 1 January and on 1 July.
- Grant listings: The Department of Education may offer grants to organisations or individuals, to support the Australian Government’s policies and programs on early child care and childhood education, school education, higher education, vocational education and training, international education, research and creating more jobs and increased productivity.
