The Department of Education, in collaboration with Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and its Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education, is hosting a series of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) webinars over 2022.
The first session, titled ‘The Evolution of Apprenticeships,’ was held in May and explored how TVET has been delivered in Finland, Malaysia, and Australia, how it has evolved to meet modern skills demands, and how it can be strengthened through innovative partnerships and collaborations.
The speakers included Mr John Tucker from Australia’s TAFE Queensland, Dr Izwah Ismail from Malaysia’s Ungku Omar Polytechnic, and Mr Juha Hautanen from Finland’s JAMK University of Applied Sciences (School of Professional Teacher Education).
