The Department of Education, Skills and Employment’s Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registration charges are changing from 1 January 2022, as announced in the 2021-22 Budget.

Consultation on the revised CRICOS charges took place in January 2020 and May 2021, and consultation on an Exposure Draft of the Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) took place in August 2021.

The current consultation seeks feedback on an Exposure Draft of the Education Services for Overseas Students (Registration Charges) Regulations 2021.

These prescribe the method and amounts the department will use to calculate the three new CRICOS registration charges to be applied from 1 January 2022.

More information is available on the ESOS Fees and Charges webpage.

The Exposure Draft of the Explanatory Statement for the Regulations also provides further background information and explains the purpose of the Regulations.

Feedback on the Exposure Draft of the Regulations is requested by 5pm AEDT Wednesday 27 October 2021. Please use the response template to provide feedback.
