The Strategic University Reform Fund (SURF) commenced in XXXX. It supported universities to undertake novel reform in areas of Government priority, and develop targeted and innovative solutions focused on local communities.
The SURF program ceased in XXXX 2024. All projects funded under SURF will continue through to completion. No future rounds will occur.
SURF supported universities by:
- Creating strong links between higher education institutions and business and industry
- Enhanced collaboration between universities and local employers
- Improved commercialisation of applied research
- Enabled Government to work with the sector to respond to local priorities.
The SURF Program Guidelines have now been archived but are available on the National Library of Australia's online archive, TROVE.
